Ok, seriously people, I want to know what the FUCK gets into your heads.

I know I'm talking to less than half a dozen people, and none of them are going to see this post, but...seriously! In a week, less than that even, 5 deer? 57 ducks? Are you just drunken, small-penised idiots who are frustrated that there is a closure to the hunting season. What in the fuck goes through your mind when you get on your snowmobile?

The only saving grace is that there are thousands of dollars in rewards out to find you and get you. The only glimmer of hope I have for this pathetic state is that people have come out and publicly, on the news, called you "idiots". Your actions are sickening.

I hope you get found out and PETA figures out who you are. You deserve the Liberation Army bombing your snowmobiles, and worse. You didn't just kill, you tortured, and not one, or two, but 5, or 57. You had to know what you were doing, or you were drunk, or both.

You deserve whatever comes your way, and probably a lot worse.

Bristol Ren Faire 2008 - Summary

Hey all,

So, Bristol's Ren Faire was yesterday for us. I have come down with some kind of summer cold, but refused to let that impact my day as much as possible. I couldn't speak during the car ride home, but all in all, it was a quite wonderful day. I think I could go again in a week or so just to see more of it.

Our caravan was two vans' worth of people: Myself, Jake, Jake's Dad, Heather, Joe, and Erin occupying the first van; CJ, his friends Gus, Foof, Foof's little sister Nikki, and Q, as well as my little sister, Mae.

I was a peasant (white tunic, blue cuffless pants, green jerkin, belt and pouch), Heather was a wench (corset and dress), Jake's dad was a mundane, Jake was Tetonic knight (Any man who wears 35 lbs of chain mail and leather everything else is insane, even before he lugs around a 4 lb warhammer all day). Joe was a pirate, Erin was a gentlelady, CJ was...I don't know what. He had on a tunic and carried around a drinking horn, so I assume peasant. Foof and Nikki were both gentleladies, Q was another peasant girl, Gus was a mundane (wearing bright tye-dyed pants, this detail is important for later), and Mae went as a water faerie (she made her own wings, my sister is insane along with Jake)

Sadly, no pictures from my end since Jodah's face is still broken. I know that pictures exist of us, and I will find and post them at a later date.

In any event, a good time was had by all this year. We got to the park near noon, and since I hadn't eaten since 7, Heather and I went straight for food. A word of advice/memo to self: Next time, eat in groups of three. One person goes for the food, another goes for the drinks, a third grabs hold of three spots and doesn't let go. We ended up sitting across from a very nice couple who, like us, were going to see the falconer that afternoon. We talked about the food, what a nice day it was (high 70s, low humidity, partially cloudy). Heather's dish got a lot of questions, such as 'Where did you get it?" The gryo/greek salad line happened to be the shortest. I ate black olives for the first time, which shocked Heather.

We went to the falconer, who was cool. His birds were pretty and really awesome to watch in action. The hawks (the air-to-ground hunters, as I found out. There is a difference between hawks, falcons, and eagles) were quite sassy, often finding a perch and staying there for awhile despite the falconer's best attempts to lure them down.

I say lure as in actual lures, faux bunny rabbits and sparrows.

After that, we found CJ's group at the Vegetable Justice stall. You pay some amount of money to huck tomatoes at a guy who insults you. I never go to pay, I just hang around the fence to listen to the insults.

Remember that detail about Gus' tye-dyed pants I mentioned earlier, well, here's why it was important: When Gus went to throw a tomato, the insulter/target looked at him and said. "Dude, it looks like Liberace and Elton John had an orgy on your legs." It was hilarious.

After that we went shopping. We tried making it back for the joust, but apparently 15 minutes beforehand is too late to get a seat of any kind, and so rather than gather out on a hill in the sun, we decided to shop a little more.

In all, I bought:
A set of green armguards/bracers
A set of runestones
A book on how to read runestones
A juggling set of 3 balls
A pouch for my balls
A henna tattoo of the Virgo symbol on the back of my neck
A dragon claw clutching a green orb
A yard, which is a long plastic tube 3 feet long which holds liquids.
Not bad for $100 bucks.

Good time was had by all, and I'm on my way to becoming a full blown carnie. Next year's ideal purchase: A crystal ball and a ring for Heather.
